Wordpress Admin: SLOW (Thursday, February 12th, 2009)

My God, since the 2.7 Wordpress update my Admin has become ridiculously slow. Is anyone else experiencing this at the minute?

I’ve had my host tell me it isn’t a problem of the server, so I’m not really sure what do about it. I can’t wait upwards of 10 seconds (sometimes) for the New Post window to load up. This is getting stupid.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on this one.

I remember when I used to load up Way Of The Exploding Fist on my Acorn Electron. It took 15 minutes to load, and you had to sit and watch it load as quite often it would get so far and hang – but if you rewound the tape deck by 10 seconds and set it playing again sometimes you could get it to resume without having to load the whole thing again.

Ah you young people, load times – LOAD TIMES?!! You don’t know what loading times are … oh that you’re born … where’s me cup of tea gone … oh, I’ve drunk it …

Craig – my site, planetdamage.com, also runs with an incredibly crappy slow admin with lots of timeouts. I’m running 2.7, yet I’ve been running it for some time now without problems. This happened after I’ve moved all my posts (around a thousand) from a couple of dozen categories into five. Now the site apparently runs okayish but the admin speed is just horrendous.
