Funny(?) webcomic gets serious, loses fans (Thursday, July 3rd, 2008)

I’ve not read Ctrl+Alt+Del for a long time now, and I was / am vastly out of touch with the current storylines and exactly what is going on with it. But could someone please tell me when exactly it turned into a cartoon of Coronation Street?

Come on Tim, it is meant to be a webcomic. This is the first series of strips that I’ve seen that have tried to be serious, and I really don’t think it works. Serious comics are called graphic novels, and they should never be online. Previously, I’ve always gone to CAD for a quick-fix of chortles, but the serious storyline is just bullshit. Plain and simple.

If you’re wondering exactly what subject Tim has tackled, then look no further than the link next to this. This, is the very last straw.

I’m no comic-writer, but a comic should be, well, comical.

I’m still enjoying it. Many others are too. Out of the many many years he’s been doing this comic can’t he just write a serious story-line once? He’ll get back to the funny. You don’t like it, don’t read it. At least it shows that as a writer and an artist he can explore more than just comedy. I don’t really see what the problem is. At least he didn’t take the mick out of the harsh story-line. I bet that would have lost him a hell of a lot more readers.

Yeah, from the looks of stuff, they’ve lost it. But, to be honest, I’m not sure what they had in the first place.

In my eyes, a comic should be funny. And when it ceases to be that it ceases to be, well, a comic.
