I was thinking today, it’s been a while since I did any design posts or showed off anything I was working on. Well, this isn’t really either. It’s just a post to allow you all to see an advert idea I dreamt up when thinking about how to advertise the awful Sugar Free Diet Coke plus Vitamins drink.
Since it’s such an awfully complicated name I decided to take it to the other extreme, and keep the entire advert extremely simple. Take a look anyway.

I like that, it’s really clever. I think if you did it as a double page spread you could have the other half using inverse colours.
People may think that it is all coke which has vitimins, not just one certain type which does. I think with the original design they were trying to differentiate it strongly from normal coke. Trying and failing, I might add.
Maybe you could introduce a third colour differentiate it. Maybe an orange flow type shape running in the background? Just an idea.
I think marketing can sometimes take over the graphical design of things, and the original bottle is a prime example of this…

I didn’t understand it till I looked at the full picture. I think it is good. I agree with the above comment of distinguishing between the types of drink. But all in all a good ad, though it still doesn’t entice me to buy any…. I still think coke is icky.

It must get very awkward to even begin to distinguish between all these drinks when Coke release yet another stupid variant, but if there just had a clever ad agency (and some brains) they could really come up with some nice stuff.
They really missed a trick with the Coke orange, that’s for sure.
