As I’m now dangerously close to finishing my college course, I’ve recently been looking around for design jobs around my local area (well, Yorkshire). It also recently dawned on me that I now face a very tough decision and one that could quite possibly influence the entire direction of my life – I have to decide what I want to do next.
It’s proving to be a very difficult decision. I certainly want to go into another design position – that is of no question whatsoever – but it is finding a place that I would like to work for. I’ve been looking at so many local design sites over the past couple of months, and I’ve come to realise that the majority of them are pretty rubbish. That leads me to think that if they can’t be bothered to create a good website, then that’s probably not the place for me.
The only thing I keep thinking is how much I’d love it to go and move away and work in a bit city somewhere a fair while away from here. Manchester maybe. Even London. But then I just think more seriously for a second and realise it would probably never work, or would be very difficult.
But then my mind flips again and I think: I’m young, why not? What’s really stopping me? A job isn’t going to come and slap me in the face, and I don’t expect it to.
It’s just figuring out what the hell I want to do precisely that’s bugging the shit out of me.
Anyone got any ideas?

I want to echo what Kayla came up with, but I won’t.
Its worth a shot isn’t it, surely.
You dont want to be flicking through the latest websites in a few years time thinking, “Ah, they could have done this… And that should be changed to….”, when if you make a move now, it’ll be you making those mistakes and me chuntering to myself in the dark.
