About
Welcome friend. Even though I’ve more than likely never met you in my life, I like to hold down a friendly gaff. So from here on in, consider yourself a friend. Friend. I suppose I better tell you a bit more about me.
Well, I’m Craig. I’ve been blogging for a long time. I got caught up in the whole blogging idea a long time ago when I first saw Wordpress. It mesmerised me. I used to love the fact that I had my own little space on the Internet that I could post my words up to, and let people around the world read it. It fascinated me. Suffice to say, the fascination wore off. I got used to being able to post my thoughts and feelings. I got bored.
Then my fire was rekindled when I discovered the gaming blog. I started a blog – along with my good friend Seb – to tell everyone about my opinions on games. By that time, that was my second gaming blog, and the first one became mildly successful then flopped. I was determined to try a little bit harder with the second one, Any Given Gamer. The lack of a link to that probably makes you think that the second one flopped too. You’d be right.
It wasn’t all bad though. It was fun while it lasted, but other things started to get in the way and I just couldn’t keep up my trawling of the news sites and other games websites to keep the content interesting. It taught me a lot about how hard it is to keep up a gaming website, and because of my experiences I have the utmost respect to anyone who holds down one. Respect to ya. Peace. And all that.
Nevertheless, my spirits refused to be dampened. I held down a blog on my MSN space for about half a year, but when I started my new course last year I quickly realised I just couldn’t make the time to post in it anymore. It was a shame, because a few people read it and enjoyed it. OK, a lot of the posts were teenage angst bitching, but it vented a lot of frustration, and people seemed to enjoy reading it. Double score.
And then we arrived here, to this very site you’re visiting now. This blog is easily the most accomplished and varied one I’ve ever written. After years (read 2) of experience of writing blogs, writing games reviews, film reviews, and music reviews I can finally bring it all together into one massive melting pot of content. There’s a smattering of reviews about (music, film), there’s bits of design, and lots of ranting. And they’ll be lots more. Forever. I plan on keeping a blog for my whole life, just because it’s such an integral part of it.
Blogging means more to me than simply just writing. It’s a way – in a life full of everything but writing – to express myself, to tell you about my day, and to rant about things I don’t like. More than anything, it’s a journey.
And just like you, I don’t know where it will end. You’re welcome to join me though.
